Daniel Kampsen is the Director of Global Safety and Operations at Drexel University. His work focuses on the management and mitigation of risk for all travelers at the University, including incident response, site vetting, strategy, policy development, and education of travelers. He has worked in international education for 10 years in roles focusing on global health and safety, study abroad advising, program development, and program management. He is the interim Chairperson of the NAFSA Heath and Safety subcommittee and inaugural member of the On-Call Higher Education Advisory Board. He presents regularly in the area of legal duty of care requirements at NAFSA, The Forum, and EducationUSA conferences. Prior to his career in international education, Dan was both a practicing attorney in Ohio and Fulbright Scholar in Poland. He holds the following degrees: B.A. in Political Science from Hope College, M.S. in Management from Boston University, M.Ed. from Ohio University, M.A. in Global Affairs from the University of Denver and a Juris Doctor from the Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In his free time, Dan enjoys reading fiction, attending film screenings, watching Detroit sports and spending time with his wife Emily and daughter Ellinor.
